Yes, I’ve finally made this design available as a stand-alone pattern – for only USD $20, you can have this pattern emailed to you immediately!

I’m going to have as many of my designs available as patterns as I can (including the bookmark kits) - the only problem is, I have to work out the DMC stranded cotton equivalent (which means spending lots of time at my local craft shop, comparing colours!).

Best results will always be achieved by using yarn from the Australian Tapestry Workshop, but I understand they are quite expensive (though well worth it, as the quality is outstanding), and may be difficult to buy overseas.

Yes, this is a completely crazy idea … but one I’ve been wanting to do for ages!

Ever since Violetcrime designed the banner for this website, I’ve wanted to stitch it. It will be just over a metre wide – and what is it about things on the floor that make cats want to sit on it?? Here’s Charlie inspecting the canvas:

And this is the start of the stitching:

It’s going to take a very long time to stitch … but will look completely AWESOME!!

(Un)finished Needlepoint – Mary Smull

I just came across needlepoint artist Mary Smull, and am ASTOUNDED at her brilliant, innovative idea! She has collected unfinished needlepoints, and finished them in white yarn. You can see how much the previous stitcher completed, and each piece has a very strange, other-worldly feel. They have truly become art pieces!

I highly recommend you take a look at her website – I’m thinking of becoming a member of her organisation SPUN – Society Of The Prevention Of Unfinished Needlepoint too
