I wove all day, wasn’t even exhausted by the end of it!  I can’t wait to come again – hopefully we’ll be asked next year

I finished a couple of infinity scarves before I warped up the loom for Bowerbird – firstly, a Peacock double length in Cherry Red and Black:

And a single length one in Prussian Blue – such a gorgeous colour!

I’m in the process of creating a ‘look book’ for all the different patterns and colours I will have available … now the last (very busy) weeks are over, it’s time to get organised!

Speaking of weaving, here’s something I sewed up yesterday – the Art Deco Fan design in turquoise and charcoal … I loved it so much, I’m keeping it!  But if you want one, let me know

I always weave one single length and one double length on the same warp, and this is the double length – in cherry red + charcoal for my mum-in-law Brigitte!

Next up, I’m weaving the Art Nouveau Peacock in cherry red + black

I bought a non-gender-specific bust form (since I’d like some of my designs to be unisex!), and that has made a huge difference in displaying the scarves (I think the word ‘cowl’ has become confusing for some people, so I’ll call them ‘infinity scarves’!).

OK, finally I’ve been working on getting the Astrology Bookmark kits into PDF patterns which you can purchase for only USD $5!   PDFs are emailed to you within 24 hours (usually much sooner), and include the pattern, full instructions, the Australian Tapestry Workshop wool numbers for you to purchase, as well as the approximate DMC stranded cotton equivalents.

This pattern is a great way to use up your excess wool stash!  It would also make a unique and welcome pressie for an Aries – even if they’ve never cross stitched before.

Here is a close-up of the pattern, which has been taken from an old 1895 6-shaft draft, and woven with Bendigo Woollen Mills 5 ply and 3 ply wool.

In lieu of a mannequin, here is the cowl draped over my loom – it’s been overlocked into an’infinity’ twist.

Team my Landscape design with a brightly coloured sofa, or keep it warm with a classic chocolate brown.  If you buy the PDF pattern (and therefore purchase your own wool), you can swap one of the browns for a bright colour to make the stripes ‘pop’!  How about lime green or turquoise?

The table loom was warped yesterday in 5 ply wool in ‘Raven’ from Bendigo Woollen Mills – the weft is 3 ply ‘Guava’.  This is to be a double-length cowl for my friend Tamara … who will be one of my Threefold pin-up girls
